My newest baby is the Ibanez RG2027-VV a 7 string Magnetic/ Piezo guitar in "Vintage Violin" finish. I LOVE this axe, she sports the Dimarzio Tone Zone-7 and a Dimarzio Air Norton in the neck spot. You can't believe how nicely this guitar plays and how good it sounds. Like night and day from my RG7620-VK, I think the wood has a huge part in the tone delivery. I have an EVO in the bridge as you've read on the 7620 and the output is maybe equal to the 2027, just a huge difference between tone and sustain. If you have the means, I highly reccommend picking one up. :)
Ibanez RG7620-VK 7 string RG. Fully Scalloped neck Dimarzio Evolution in the bridge position and Blaze 7 in the neck with a slightly different wiring scheme in place on the 5 way toggle. 1 Bridge only both coils humbucking, 2 Bridge and neck inner coils in parallel, 3 Neck only humbucking, 4 Neck top coils (single mode) and 5 off. 1st guitar I ever bought brand new.
Ibanez RG550-BK_SKULLZ Originally had a maple fretboard, swapped with a 570 rosewood neck, I deceided I don't like Maple fretboards as much as the darker sounding rosewood. Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge, stock S1 in the middle, and original V2 pickup in the neck slot. The tone zone is a GREAT sounding Pup with this guitar. I bought the clear pickguard from Jeannie's Pickguards This is one of my favorite guitars as it is Tremol-no equipped and plays like butta.
***Recently refinished*** This is one of my oldest guitars and longest companion, she was showing some signs of aging and abuse. I decided to perform a refin and took it to a local paint guru, who really helped me come up with a new look while retaining the stock characteristics that I love about this axe. ***PICS HERE*** Disable your pop up blocker, albums will spawn in a new window.
